The Snare & Feral

“I hear heaven has a tavern of it’s own, and the dead put on a fantastic show”

Beyond the land of the living, four souls find themselves trapped as the house band in a tavern between death and wherever we go next. Through original folk music and dreams they seek to understand who they were when they were alive. But when another soul arrives, their carefully crafted songs spiral into chaos, leaving them asking, who was I really?

Through original folk music, playful humour and storytelling, this new Actor-Musician Musical explores the value of music, atonement and our place in the natural world. It is mystical, playful and otherworldly.

‘It is well written with sparky dialogue, excellent musicianship and warmth by the bucketload.  I’m very excited about the potential future this piece has’

Beccy D’Souza, The Nottingham Playhouse

The show has a startling and fresh sound that brings together top quality instrumentalists and layered vocal harmony to great effect. The story takes place in a compelling and well realised world that deals with both the relatable and profound. The Daywalkers have my unhesitating support and belief.

This show has been being developed over the past two years. In that time the original soundtrack has been performed as part of our FolkTale Events; we have R&D’d the show with Director Jennifer Lane Baker, and performed at numerous theatre festivals inc. Amplify Theatre Festival, Nottingham Playhouse and Engine Rooms Next Page Festival - Omnibus Theatre. We recently pitched the show as part of Beam2025 on Thursday 15th of May.
